can be one the easier venues at which to organise
as the start, finish and parking are all so close
together. Nevertheless our early publicity
indicated a start at the south end of Whitchurch
Common and despite amending all our literature,
notifying neighbouring clubs and leaving a notice
board at the “wrong” assembly point we
still had one late arrival.
The fine autumn weather
ensured that the disappointingly small number of
competitors enjoyed Dartmoor at its most benign.
I know one or two who were hoping that the early
morning mist would persist throughout the day.
