Those documents in the column headed “Other” may be downloaded and displayed in your web browser direct. The Map files have been compressed to reduce their size for downloading. They will be downloaded to your PC as zip files. You will have to decompress the zip files with a suitable programme such as WinZip, and then open the .pdf in a suitable pdf reader such as Adobe Reader.
Note that the download process may take a few seconds/minutes depending on the size of the specific file and your connection to the internet. Please be aware that even when compressed, some of the map files are in the order of 1Mb
Printing pdfs
Once you have a file displayed, to print it off select Print from the File menu. Ensure that you select the correct layout ie Portrait or Landscape from the printer Properties menu. Most maps are Landscape, whilst supporting documents are in Portrait. To obtain a good quality print of a map file, it is recommended that Best Quality is selected, and that a good quality and weight of paper is used. 120gsm is recommended.
